Preparing for Retina Surgery

PLEASE DO NOT EAT FOOD OR DRINK LIQUIDS THE MIDNIGHT BEFORE SURGERY. 

ALSO AVOID USING ASPRIN OR IBUPROFREN TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO SURGERY IF POSSIBLE

You must bring a chaperone that can drive you from the surgery center since you will be sedated

Please order your positioning equipment prior to surgery if you have been told that you are likely to need positioning equipment after surgery.  Many retina surgeries do not require positioning equipment.  Here are a few suggestions: Amazon, Face Down Solutions (rental), Comfort Solutions, and  there are many others.  We have no preference in which option you choose, and you may decide not to choose any supportive equipment.  

Please bring a hard copy of any medical clearance you may need based on your health history on the day of surgery.
